The Birth of AJI-NO-MOTO®
This is the story of a man who made a great discovery over 100 years ago. In 1908 Dr. Kikunae Ikeda, a Japanese Chemist and Professor at Tokyo Imperial University developed the UMAMI TASTE from Konbu seaweed. He revealed that glutamate was the component of taste and named the unique taste UMAMI.
